my longest client is my most secret client 🤫

+ they also happen to be my EASIEST.

They're not a secret because I’m ashamed of them. But because they’re a corporate client in the healthcare industry.

Not exactly aligned with the small biz, e-comm founder vibe I usually talk about here, ya know?

Still, I adore the all-female team I support, and they’re my longest-running client for a reason.

I landed the role purely through luck. A friend of a friend needed temporary coverage while someone was on maternity leave, and I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

After 3+ different meetings, conversations, and weeks of waiting: I landed the role!

Then a second person got pregnant (babies everywhere!) and suddenly I was helping both sides of their business with email strategy, tech, and ongoing campaigns.

It’s been a few years now, and I’ve supported them in generating well over $1 million a YEAR in revenue... all without ever getting stressed out or running into issues (like I said, the EASIEST client ever lol).

Which is your reminder that email marketing doesn’t have to be hard. Sometimes it’s about making life easier for the people on the other side, and doing it in a way that works without making it complicated.

🌊 Email Strategy Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated 🌊

There’s this myth that a “good” email strategy has to be wildly complex. And while some are: multiple flows, segmented automations, deep-dive analytics, endless AB tests, etc. etc.

Most brands don't need to start there. They just need to have the basics down before they try optimizing things.

And what are those basics you're wondering?

✅ Sending consistently, even if it’s just one a week.
✅ Making sure your flows work (and sound like human)
✅ Writing emails people enjoy reading, not just skimming
✅ Avoiding over-segmentation when your list isn’t big enough yet
✅ An easy opt-in process (pls don't require SMS btw)

The easiest way to keep showing up, is by keeping things sustainable. Whatever that might look like with your current capacity.

At the end of the day, simple ≠ lazy. Simple = repeatable AND effective.

And when it’s done right, simple can support a million-dollar business without the chaos.

🛠️ Your 5-Minute Challenge 🛠️

Look at your current email plan and ask yourself:

– Where am I making things harder than they need to be?
– Am I skipping sends because it feels too overwhelming?
– What’s one thing I could simplify (or remove altogether) to make email feel easier?

Jot down one change that would make email feel less like a giant to-do… and more like a tool that’s here to help (because it is!).

Reading: The Nightingale! (Yes, still. It's a long book! lol). I'm halfway through and truly enjoying it. Especially with all the fascist, Nazi sh*t that's been happening lately. Don't even get me started on the state of politics lately...

Listening: Obsessively listening to this album on repeat. Tracks 5, 6, 7, + 8 are by far my faves. It's wild because the lyrics are def about yearning, and unrequited love, so I can't currently relate... but also can in my soul? Idk xD

Wellness Goal: I!! am!! so!! excited!! for!! this!! one!! A late-night insomnia thought had me in a chokehold, so I went live with it on threads yesterday, and later today will be my first post on it! Check it out here 👀

Obsessing Over: This classic cola. It's one of the brands I write whitelabel copy for, and when I saw it was BOGO at my local Harris Teeter?? Yeah, I had to try all the flavors. This one is my faaaaave + I'm not usually a soda girlie (bc ew, sugar).

Oh, and before I forget, with Black Friday + holiday sales szn creeping up…

I’m offering 25% off email audits now through Sept 1 for email subscribers ONLY.

It’s the perfect time to make sure your flows, campaigns, and segments are ready to connect AND convert (I hate this verbiage, but it's the easiest way to explain it lmao).

And if you refer someone else for an audit (or any service), you’ll get 20% of their total invoice sent right to you. 😎 Because sharing is caring… and should be rewarded, duh.

(Just make sure they drop your name on the contact form!)

Also, side note, while I’ve got you:

I’m working on building out a free resource vault full of helpful templates, tips, and tools for when you’re not quite ready to outsource your emails yet.

So if there’s anything you’ve been stuck on or wish someone would just hand you, reply back and tell me. I’d love to include it. :)

Talk to ya next week,

Edition #137 Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 the backstabbing snake ↓ I won't lie, I’ve told this story more times than I can count. And not because I care about the guy, but because I needed validation that this was actually as shady as it felt. All I wanted was something casual, consistent, and chill. So I started "dating" someone I genuinely liked as a friend. Things were fine… until he caught deeper feelings. I reminded him of what we agreed on (aka: nothing serious). He responded by blocking...

Edition #136 Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 even tho i'm constantly rejecting him ↓ The other week, I was SO excited to spend some time with my male bsf (who I matched w/ on Tinder last Nov, but we both instantly agreed we'd make better friends than lovers) because I was fiiiinally gonna meet the girl he's seeing. His roommate came too, which was... fine. Except he'd been drinking since noon. And by 7 p.m., he was saying things like “it's cuz you’re just so cute” when it wasn’t even part of the...

Edition #134 Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 2025: my outsourcing year ↓ After being in business for nearly 4 years now (holy SMOKES, how has the time flown by??) and being ✨full-time✨ for over 3 of them, I finally committed to myself. If something needed to get done, I was going to outsource it. Because at the end of the day, time > money. Like most founders, I can DIY almost anything. But that doesn’t mean I should. It got to a point where 10-hour days were my norm. I was living my dream life...
