she said "yes" to a 200%+ ROI 🤯

she left me on read for 8 months...

(Not in a shady way. Just in a “not now” kinda way.)

I sent the cold pitch anyway.

Because I genuinely love her jewelry. And I knew I could help, if (when!) she needed it.

No pressure, no “let me pick your brain” weirdness. Just a friendly note, a few ideas, and a hope that she’d remember my name even if she wasn’t ready.

Fast forward a few quarters, and she wanted to hear more. Yay!!

So we got to work. I dug deep, sent an intensive brand questionnaire that led to writing a rock SOLID brand messaging guide.

That had her saying: "WOW! You summarized and restructured the Brand Messaging perfectly! This feels 100% authentic... did I just fall in love with my business even more?! YOU ARE AMAZING!!"

Like, omg stttooopp, I'm blushing 🤭 Seriously the BEST music to this copywriter's ear.

I then got to work on writing, designing, and setting up the backend tech in Klavyio for her 5 essential flows while she prepped for all the killer sales she'd be receiving.

After minimal edit requests and final approvals, I turned the flows live.

And in JUST one week, she made back 200% of what she paid me.

I don’t say that to flex. I say that because if I had waited for the “perfect time” to pitch myself, I’d still be waiting.

That first pitch email didn’t land right away. But it planted the first seeds of connection.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to show up in your inbox with confetti and a flashing CTA button... hi. This is it.

(ok, maybe not a flashing CTA button, but ya get the point. 😜)

🌊 The 5 Core Flows You Should Have As An E-Comm Brand 🌊

You didn't think I was gonna tease and then gate keep my recommended 5 essential flows that we set up, did you??

Ofc not, that's not how things work around here. 💁🏼‍♀️

These flows are the backbone of any solid customer journey. They're the automated touchpoints that run BTS while you focus on product development, content planning, or are just elbows-deep in packing peanuts.

  1. Welcome Flow: Someone just joined your list and the vibes are high. This is your first impression that sets the tone and gives them a reason to stick around (even if they don’t buy yet).
  2. Abandoned Cart or Checkout Flow: Because someone almost bought. These flows help nudge them back in a way that doesn’t feel pushy or desperate, just helpful and timely.
  3. Browse Abandonment Flow: Lurking = interest. These emails re-engage the window-shoppers who clicked around but didn’t add to cart. Kind of like saying, “Hey, just checking in... you finding everything alright?”
  4. Post-Purchase Flow: The convo doesn’t end after checkout. These flows keep the excited vibes going, help your new customer feel supported, and make it easy for them to want to come back.
  5. Sunset Flow: Ignoring cold subscribers and letting them hang out on your list wrecks deliverability. These flows give disengaged folks one last chance to re-engage before you boot 'em from the list.

🛠️ Your 5-Minute Challenge 🛠️

Open your ESP (Klaviyo, Flodesk, ConvertKit... whatever you’re using). Then do just one of these:

  • Find your abandoned cart flow and check the subject line. Would you open it?
  • Peek at your post-purchase flow. Does it sound like you, or a robotic receipt generator?
  • Scan your Welcome Flow. Does it introduce your brand in a way that makes people excited to stick around?

Pick one flow. Skim it. And make one note of something that feels off or unfinished.

And if you're staring at it like 😬 “I don’t even know where to start”, you’re not alone.

So why not try to win a free 30-minute strategy session?

It's easy -- respond back to this email with what prompt inside 52 Un-Boring Email Content Ideas inspired this email, and one random correect guesser will win it next week!

Reading: The Outside by Stephen King has been keeping me company on my flight back to Michigan this week. It's a bit gory. And the heavier descriptions of the 11-year-old's death are gruesome... but so far, I'm sucked in.

Listening: mike. on repeat! I've never really gotten into him before. But he's a GREAT artist to listen to in the background while working, I will say. Why on repeat then? I'm seeing him in concert tomorrow with my sister! Whoop whoop.

Wellness Goal: I've been in a massive Push/ Hustle phase lately, but I have a few trips this month, so my main goal is to ENJOY LIFE. So I'm doing my best to go with the flow (so hard for me) & love every second of it. 🥰

Obsessing Over: I'm not much of a TV person, but I'm watching Star Wars for the first time (chronologically, ofc), and I'm not hating it? Mostly because someone said "it's basically just a sci-fi love story" And I was sold.

You know the drill by now, guess which prompt from 52 Un-Boring Email Content Ideas inspired this email, and you could win a free 30-minute strategy session with me.

One correct guesser gets picked each week. And if you’re the only one who replies? Congrats, you win by default 😎

While I’ve got you here...

I'm building a free resource vault full of swipeable templates, email education, and answers to the “I have no idea what to write” moments.

Got a Q or content block you want me to cover? Hit reply and tell me. It might just be the next resource I hyperfixate on ;)

Also, I'm about to be in the car for hours next week (yay, road trips). So, if you’ve read any books lately that you couldn’t put down, I wanna know.

Preferably fiction. Preferably one that makes me feel something.

Talk to ya next week,

Edition #137 Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 the backstabbing snake ↓ I won't lie, I’ve told this story more times than I can count. And not because I care about the guy, but because I needed validation that this was actually as shady as it felt. All I wanted was something casual, consistent, and chill. So I started "dating" someone I genuinely liked as a friend. Things were fine… until he caught deeper feelings. I reminded him of what we agreed on (aka: nothing serious). He responded by blocking...

Edition #136 Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 even tho i'm constantly rejecting him ↓ The other week, I was SO excited to spend some time with my male bsf (who I matched w/ on Tinder last Nov, but we both instantly agreed we'd make better friends than lovers) because I was fiiiinally gonna meet the girl he's seeing. His roommate came too, which was... fine. Except he'd been drinking since noon. And by 7 p.m., he was saying things like “it's cuz you’re just so cute” when it wasn’t even part of the...

Edition #135 Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 + they also happen to be my EASIEST. ↓ They're not a secret because I’m ashamed of them. But because they’re a corporate client in the healthcare industry. Not exactly aligned with the small biz, e-comm founder vibe I usually talk about here, ya know? Still, I adore the all-female team I support, and they’re my longest-running client for a reason. I landed the role purely through luck. A friend of a friend needed temporary coverage while someone was on...
