ok, i swear i do more than just go on dates

Buuuut they do make for the most interesting stories lately. Everything else? Pretty routine.

And because I’m me, I tend to find marketing parallels in everything. Especially the chaotic stuff I tell myself I’m doing ✨for the plot✨.

Like this one date I went on in Michigan:
He was funny over text. Thoughtful. Easy to talk to. Didn’t vote for Trump.

(The bar? In hell. I know.)

So we make plans to meet. He texts that he’s waiting in his car. I pull up. Watch him get out of his car. Walk into the bar. And… not look back.

Weird, but okay. I follow him in and grab myself a drink. Then he texts me: “I’m inside. Lmk when you get here.”

I was sitting directly behind him. He didn’t even realize. 🤦🏼‍♀️

(ok, I didn't either, but not only did I sit down first, but my back was to him!)

After that? It just got worse. He bragged about his sleazy roof sales tactics and basically gave me the ick for a solid 60 minutes.

Yes, Reader, I'm being completely serious. He was BRAGGING about his UNETHICAL "strategies" to get more sales.

It was disgusting. The vibes were just off.

(yet he still had the audacity to ask me to come over to "play mario kart")

Thankfully, he got the hint because we didn't text after that night. 😂

How's this relate to your emails? Why, I'm so glad you asked.

Your email is the convo before the date. Your landing page is the date itself. If they don’t match, the whole thing feels off, and your subscriber might just end up ghosting you.

📬 The Click Isn’t the End 📬

Last week we fixed weak CTAs. But even the best button can’t save you if what’s behind the click doesn’t deliver.

When someone clicks your email, they’re saying, “I’m interested!” The job of the landing page? Confirm that interest, fast.

Signs Your Landing Page Isn't... Landing

  1. The page opens with totally different copy or visuals
It doesn’t need to be a duplicate, but it should feel like part of the same conversation.
  2. The product or offer isn’t front and center
If they have to scroll to find what they clicked for, you're losing sales.
  3. The CTA changes or gets confusing
If your email said “Try the sleep bundle” and your page says “Learn more about our wellness system,” you’ve lost them.
  4. The page takes forever to load
Especially on mobile. If they click and get stuck staring at a loading screen, they’re gone.
  5. The page is doing too much
Banners, popups, or unrelated offers can totally derail the experience. Keep it focused on what they came for.
  6. There’s no clear next step
Once they land, make the action obvious. Don’t make them work for it.

🛠️ Your 5-Minute Challenge 🛠️

Pull up the last email you sent that got decent clicks, and open the page it linked to. Ask yourself:

  • Does this feel like a natural next step?
  • Is the product or offer immediately clear?
  • Would I know what to do next if I landed here cold?

If the answer is “ehhh” to any of those, make a note. You don’t need to overhaul everything right now but flag it so you’re not unknowingly losing people after the click.

Reading: My verdict on the Twisted series after finishing the first 3 books? Solid 3 stars. They were just... a bit too cliché for me. Easy reads, but I need more suspense. Mystery. Thrills. Something to make me THINK lol.

Listening: Choker by SkyDxddy. If you like... punk rock? pop? I dunno, she calls it traumacore. You'll love this (and her). BATTLEFIELD, Pretty Distraction, and Medusa are my other favs. Her lyrics are just so deep. Raw. Unfiltered. <3

Wellness Goal: Hitting those protein (and macro) goals babiiiiieee! Almost immediately after getting back down to NC, I was meal prepping like crazy to get back on track.

Obsessing Over: Still Goodnotes 😂 But also, I rarely watch shows or movies lately because I'd rather be outside buuuuut a new Harlan Coben adaptation dropped: Missing You, and it's a solid 8/10 imho.

If reading this had you wondering whether your emails and landing pages are actually vibing the way they should be, it might be time for a second pair of eyes.

Which is exactly why it's part of my 100+ point Audit where I'll analyuze your email content, performance, and so much more to help you figure out what’s working, what’s not, and where subscribers might be falling off.

Next week, we’re wrapping up this whole mini-series with one final email that ties everything together.

So if there’s something you’ve been stuck on, confused by, or just lowkey avoiding when it comes to your emails… hit reply and tell me (srsly, pls).

Edition #127 Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 "your maintenance request is complete!" ↓ Was the text I got a few hours after the maintenance crew randomly left my apartment... without saying a word. And the black spots I had reported? Still there. Just smudged now from their "cleaning" attempt. Cue my facial expression: 🤨🤨🤨 But lemme back up: A few weeks ago, I noticed these random black spots popping up on my carpet. Not knowing what else to do, I grabbed some cleaner and a wash rag. Wiped them up....

Edition #126 Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 and honestly? i'm glad i did. ↓ So... long story short? I got stood up. I’d been talking to this ex-marine for a month. Now, I've had a few... unsavory encounters with marines since my move to Wilmy (aka less than an hour from a marine base). So my guard was already up. Like, sky-high walls. But he was super consistent. Easy to talk to. Sent me $200 to have a great St. Paddy’s with my friends. Does the $$ really matter? Ofc not. But he was in Michigan,...

Edition #125 Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 even with a filter, i still fail ↓ While it’s been a few months since my five-year relationship ended, I think I’ve finally gotten the dating roster* thing down. And I hate it. But that’s beside the point. The point is, I set filters on my dating apps that I thought would help me find better-qualified matches. Like: “looking for a long-term relationship” and “the hottest thing you can do is not be a shitty person.” Yet somehow, the duds still make it...
